BE3203 Sex: batch. Origin: Mt Pasian, Mindanao, Philippines, 1700 m. Notes: this should be the batch of clones coming from BE3204. Robert Cantley says: "On Mt Pasian we found two forms of N. truncata, also flowering at different times of the year. One was colorful but not black, it entered the market as N. truncata "Pasian" or as N. truncata "highland" (although other nearby mountains also host N. truncata) and it's BE3203, previously sold in 43 clones as BE0136. The other form, the black one, was nearly extinct because of devastating logging activities in the surrounding forest. We have been there in the late 1990s and this form is now believed to be extinct in the wild. The 9 specimens we had (3 of which were given away) were raised from seed in our nurseries and they remained the only ones in cultivation until we made the cross QoH x KoS in 2009, sold with the code BE3307". This black variety has been described as the new species N. robcantleyi in december 2011. BE3202 Sex: batch. Origin: Philippines. Notes: from 3 clones, lowland form. BE3204 Sex: batch. BE4001 Sex: single clone. Origin: Philippines. Notes: BE says: "From a single clone out of microprop donated by Singapore Botanic Gardens. Nothing is known about its provenance. We had assumed that it was most likely a lowland form but it grows well for us in our highland nurseries. It's for this reason that we have designated it as an intermediate grower".
